One protester was shot during a protest in Surkhet district on friday. A protest emerged after the government`s decision to federate the country into six states which resulted the division of Mid-western region .
Police had to fire several rounds in the air after the crowd that gathered on their own,without any leadership, and threw stones at the house of Nepali Congress joint General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka.
A large number of people have poured out in the streets despite the authorities’ enforcement of curfew from 1:30 pm till 9 pm today.
