Russia has sent more than a hundred thousand tons of wheat to Syria as humanitarian assistance. Despite a better crop and higher offer price than last year, Syrian farmers have less wheat to sell. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization estimated that the Syrian government would try to buy 600,000 tons of wheat internationally this year.
