"Sunkali" is a documentary film directed by journalist Bhojraj Bhat that follows the story of the girls soccer team from the most remote part of Nepal, Mugu. Mugu is a small village in western Nepal. As according to the survey 2011, the literacy rate of women in this region is only 10%. Mugu, a severely one of the most beautiful village and a nature gifted region but lack of basic infrastructure of development has deprived many come up with their talent .
Good Neighbors, Nepal has produced the documentary focusing on female football team. The main objective of this documentary is to empower the female to overcome the social discrimination on female and level up them in community leadership
The documentary has won two awards at 12th KIMF and has also won Audience Award at the sixth Toronto Film Festival held on March 28, 2015. The award is of value $1,000.
And the documentary will be screened at shinokubo film festival, Japan on August 17 and August 18.
