India as a second largest number of internet users, will porn ban be practical. Controlling the net is almost impossible, and there are ways to bypass blocking of any particular websites.It is just not possible to control pornography through the porn ban because as the government shut down one website, another springs up. So it is a very difficult thing to do as internet is so vast that there are ways to bypass blocking of any websites.
Last month, the Supreme Court refused to impose an outright ban after hearing a petition that said Internet porn fuelled sex crime. The court said individuals should be free to access such websites in private.But the court asked the home ministry to submit its views and the government acted after the ministry sent a letter to the telecom secretary.
