Sharks sighting in Ibaraki prompts swimming ban at beaches of Hokota in Ibaraki Prefecture. The authorities in the city have promptly prohibited swimming in the sea .
At least 16 sharks have been sighted off a beach in Hokota City since Wednesday afternoon, causing the closure of beaches in the area on Thursday and then again on Friday.
The prefectural officials warn that the sharks could attack humans if provoked and are urging people not to go near them. Swimming was prohibited at 16 beaches in ibaraki prefecture.
