Local authorities have stated that the police fired some bullets in the airs as some of the protesters were trying to vandalize the signboard at the district police office.
But he Chief district officer have said that "he had not given the orders to fire bullets". As the demonstration went out of control the local authorities have clamped an indefinite curfew in the district headquarters.The activists, however, have claimed that the local administration opened fire to suppress their peaceful agitation.
