Bullying tied to suicide

An investigation report from a middle school in Iwate Prefecture acknowledged on Sunday that bullying is considered to have partly contributed to the suicide of a 13-year-old male student at the school earlier this month.
The report recognized six cases of bullying by seven students that targeted Ryo Muramatsu, a second-year student at the school in the town of Yahaba. The report was handed to the boy's father, 40, by the school principal.
Muramatsu was fatally struck by a train after he fell from the platform of a local station on July 5.
